Tini began training horses more than 20
years ago, starting with her own horse, Roman.
As a working student in Austria, working with many
different horses and breeds, she developed her
understanding of horses and her ability to 'listen' to the
language of the horses she trained.
For many trainers, training begins and ends with the
exercises. For Tini, the exercises are just the starting
point. She develops a working relationship with each
animal, ensuring that they are both willing to do the work
and that they find it enjoyable. This allows the animal to
relax, form a solid foundation of skills and, building from
there, reach its maximum potential in whatever discipline
it demonstrates talent in.
The training program at Thistle Dew Stables is tailored to
each horse. We offer a partial training board, which
includes three riding-work days in the ring and one riding
day on the trail. We also offer a full training board,
which includes 4 riding-work days in the ring and one
riding day on the trail.
We accept horses at any level of education from weanling to
upper level dressage. If your horse has a behavioral
problem, we can work with you to develop a customized
program to correct it.
The basis of proper horse education starts with ground
training, e.g., lunging, ground driving and long-lining.
From there, you have your choice of curriculums, either
carriage or riding, though we prefer to educate the horse
in both. Tini and her capable staff can advance the
training of virtually any horse through their patient,
methodical and supportive techniques.
